Farwell to the king(s)

August 20, 2011 – Fast food giant Burger King dethroned their creepy mascot king yesterday, and plans to roll out a new campaign beginning this weekend that portrays a healthier image for the restaurant chain.

The day before, Philadelphia sports talk radio station 610 WIP announced that host Howard Eskin opted out of his afternoon time slot and will be leaving the airwaves after 25 years. Eskin bears a striking resemblance to the Burger King mascot, so much so that many listeners began calling him King.
