McCartney documentary to debut on Showtime

September 9, 2011 – In another tribute to the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Sir Paul McCartney’s documentary “The Love We Make” is set to debut on Showtime this weekend.

The documentary, shot in black and white chronicles McCartney as he travels through New York City after the attacks, and includes footage of the benefit concert at Yankee Stadium the following month. The concert featured McCartney along with David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Pete Townshend.

McCartney was stranded in JFK International Airport on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001 and watched the events unfold on television like the rest of America. The idea of the film and the concert came to him while he watched in hopes that he could do something to help.

“Music has some property that can be very healing,” he says.

The documentary will air on Showtime tomorrow night at 10 p.m. EST.
